About Next Mission Systems

Technology for tomorrow’s missions

Next Mission Systems develops modern learning, simulation, and training environments where people can safely experience, understand, and learn to apply technology.

From innovation to practical environment

Why Next Mission Systems exists

The idea for Next Mission Systems grew from experience with Smart Zones and Smart Technology Experience Centers. One question became increasingly important: how do we translate new technology into an environment that works in practice?

A standalone simulator, VR headset, or software application is not enough. Technology becomes useful only when space, programming, facilitation, and evaluation are designed around the same objective.

That integration is the starting point for every Mission Lab.

Founder

Eddie Postma

Eddie Postma combines more than thirty years of experience in IT, product development, and project leadership with a clear vision for educational and technological innovation.

In roles including consultant, information analyst, product owner, project manager, and director, he and his teams developed and guided digital products, strategic roadmaps, and complex change initiatives. The focus consistently remained on connecting technology, people, and organizational objectives.

Since 2019, Eddie has focused particularly on Smart Technology, multidisciplinary learning environments, and practical applications of technologies including robotics, AR, VR, and AI. Technology never stands alone: it is used to help people train realistically, collaborate effectively, and make confident decisions in complex, dynamic, technology-driven environments.

This combination of technical expertise, product vision, and implementation strength forms the foundation of Next Mission Systems. The mission is clear: translate complex technology into powerful, accessible, future-ready solutions that people understand, organizations can implement, and deliver measurable value in practice.

IT & product development

More than thirty years of experience designing, developing, and implementing complex IT solutions, digital products, and information services. Eddie has worked for organizations including Social Channel Studios, NPO (Dutch Public Broadcasting), Unilever, Campina, the City of Amsterdam, Parkmobile, and Parksen.

Product strategy, roadmaps & teams

Extensive experience translating strategic objectives into clear product visions, achievable roadmaps, and concrete outcomes. In roles including information analyst, product owner, project manager, and director, he led multidisciplinary teams and complex change initiatives.

Educational innovation

Since 2019, active at the intersection of technology, education, and hands-on learning. Involved in developing Smart Zones, hybrid learning environments, and technology programs where students and professionals learn through experience, collaboration, and realistic assignments.

VR, XR, robotica & AI

Specialized in translating emerging technologies into understandable, usable, and scalable applications. The focus is not technology as a standalone product, but solutions that demonstrably strengthen learning, training, collaboration, and decision-making.

Our belief

What we believe

A credible technology environment must be more than impressive to look at. It must be understandable, guided, and usable.

Practice over presentation

Technology becomes meaningful when participants can operate, investigate, and discuss it themselves.

People and teams at the center

A learning environment begins with people, roles, and collaboration—not an equipment list.

Professional and accessible

The environment feels professional and technology-driven while remaining accessible to different experience levels.

Develop and evaluate modularly

We begin in a controlled manner, gather feedback, and expand only when content and use support it.

One integrated system

More than hardware

Next Mission Systems connects the components required to turn technology into a usable learning, demonstration, or training environment.

Strategy

Define the target group, ambition, and desired outcome.

Program design

Connect learning goals, scenarios, roles, and learning formats.

Space

Align the environment with location, capacity, and use.

Technology

Select, integrate, and test hardware and software.

Implementation

Configuration, installation, and controlled commissioning.

Facilitation

Prepare teachers, coaches, and instructors for operation.

Support

Maintenance, updates, evaluation, and potential expansion.

Our approach

From challenge to operational environment

We begin with the objective and build step by step toward an environment that can be tested, guided, and further developed.

  1. 01

    Understand the challenge

Clarify the objective, target group, context, and requirements.

  2. 02

    Design the experience

Connect technology with programming, scenarios, and roles.

  3. 03

    Integrate the environment

Bring together and test the space, hardware, and software.

  4. 04

    Prepare facilitators

Instruction, materials, and support for teachers or instructors.

  5. 05

    Launch the program

Deliver and support the first activities in a controlled manner.

  6. 06

    Evaluate and grow

Translate feedback into improvement, continuation, or a deliberate stop.

Build together on trust

Clarity at every step

Strong collaboration begins with openness. That is why we clarify what is possible today, what we develop together, and how every step contributes to a Mission Lab that fits your organization.

Create clear expectations together

We carefully align objectives, approach, and intended outcomes so everyone involved understands what we are working toward together.

Transparent about development

We clearly show which solutions are available, how our offering is developing, and which possibilities we can explore together.

Substantiated and reliable

We share outcomes, partnerships, and experiences based on verified information so you can make decisions from an honest, current, and reliable picture.

Discuss which Mission Lab environment fits your organization

Together, we explore the target group, objective, available space, and an appropriate first step.
